📄 Job Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and meticulously maintain ultra-low-latency network infrastructure connecting several dozen critical trading venues worldwide.
- Conduct in-depth measurement and analysis of end-to-end latency, packet loss, and jitter, proactively identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks.
- Engineer and implement optimized routing paths, sophisticated BGP configurations, and advanced peering strategies for global trading connectivity.
- Liaise with data center and telecom providers to establish robust cross-connects, leased lines, and dark fiber routes.
- Fine-tune Linux networking stacks and NIC configurations to achieve microsecond-level performance.
- Develop and automate comprehensive network monitoring, telemetry, and alerting systems.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps, trading, and infrastructure teams to seamlessly integrate networking solutions into high-performance trading algorithms.
- Uphold stringent network security and resilience protocols while continuously optimizing for minimal overhead.
📌 Requirements & Skills
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years of dedicated experience in a similar Network Engineer, Infrastructure, or SRE role, with a strong emphasis on network performance and reliability.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and operating low-latency, high-throughput networks.
- Profound theoretical and practical knowledge of TCP/IP, advanced routing protocols (especially BGP), and a wide array of network diagnostic tools.
- Hands-on proficiency with Linux network tuning, kernel parameters, and packet capture/analysis tools (e.g., tcpdump, Wireshark, Corvil).
- Practical experience with data center networking, colocation connectivity, and cross-connect provisioning.
- Proven track record of successfully reducing latency or jitter across complex distributed systems.
- Strong ability to automate network configuration and monitoring tasks using Python, Ansible, or equivalent scripting languages.
- A security-first mindset, capable of balancing ultra-low latency requirements with robust protection measures (e.g., DDoS mitigation, ACLs).
Desirable Skills:
- Ability to bring unique insights or optimizations that significantly enhance network speed, efficiency, or reliability.
- Networking design experience specifically for crypto or traditional finance (Trad-Fi) High-Frequency Trading (HFT) systems.
- Advanced experience with BGP peering and optimization, route-maps, and latency-based routing policies.
- Exposure to critical exchange connectivity protocols (FIX, WebSocket, proprietary APIs).
- Familiarity with FPGA acceleration, kernel bypass frameworks (DPDK, VMA), or hardware timestamping.
- Understanding of crypto exchange infrastructure, colocation ecosystems, and market data networks.
- Willingness to provide support for mission-critical trading infrastructure outside standard working hours.
